Charles Tart’s research has discerned that when people are stoned they often see things that “seen more sharply in that their edges, contours stand out more sharply against the background." A heightened
perception of boundary
relating to the earth element. However, when people get high past a certain point, their perception of things tends to become blurry. This is a great example of dose-dependent reversal of the effects of cannabis. Similar effects pertain to perception of depth and centrality of vision, also related to Earth element spatial perception. In addition, people often also attain a sensual quality to vision, as if they are actually touching what they’re looking at. This tactile dimension to space relates to Earth very strongly.
Indeed, many of the
qualities of space itself can seem to change
when a person is high on cannabis, and the earth element is the essence of space. This relationship can also include a person’s spatial orientation.
"I often forget to finish some task I've started, or get
sidetracked
more frequently than when straight..."
